Job description:

As a Research and Development Project Manager / Office Director, you will be based at our Business Development & Innovation Department at Thessaloniki, Greece. You will be leading and coordinating the implementation of EU-funded research projects in the context of H2020, Horizon Europe, Erasmus+ and MSCA. You will supervise and guide the R&D team in the Business Development & Innovation Department towards the successful planning and implementation of project milestones and deliverables by managing both technical and non-technical tasks, ensuring they meet quality standards and deadlines. Also, you will lead the preparation of financial reports, cost analysis, and everything needed for supporting the successful project reporting to the European Union. You will supervise, support and foster the close cooperation of the company technical and research staff. Your role will encompass team leadership, project concept design, technical vision, conflict resolution, and budget management and security. You will prepare and support the team in project and plenary meetings, while you will represent the company whenever needed like project review meetings, demos, EU liaison meetings, and workshops and conferences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, informatics, engineering, communication technologies or related fields.
  • MSc or PhD in informatics or engineering domain.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in EU-funded projects.
  • Problem-solving skills and knowledge.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and presentation skills in English.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel frequently across Europe and beyond for project-related activities.
  • Solid project coordination capabilities with a keen eye for accuracy and process detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in team settings and to manage tasks with high organizational precision.
  • Competent in preparing and assisting with financial documentation and reimbursement requests.
  • Proactive, self-driven and able to operate independently with minimal guidance.
  • Comfortable collaborating, negotiating and building relationships with diverse international stakeholders and partners.

Your role and responsibilities

  • Lead the R&D team of the Business Development & Innovation Department of the company located in Thessaloniki, Greece.
  • Create and maintain effective and efficient communication with the consortium and the EU representatives, e.g., project and financial officers.
  • Oversee compliance with EU regulations and project rules (e.g., H2020/Horizon Europe guidelines).
  • Coordinate and supervise the R&D team towards preparing and delivering both technical and non-technical reports on time, maintaining compliance with quality benchmarks.
  • Act as the company’s representative in EU-funded consortia, including plenary sessions, work package and technical meetings, dissemination events, workshops, trainings and relevant scientific conferences.
  • Lead the preparation of financial reports, cost analysis, and everything needed for supporting the successful project reporting to the European Union.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure alignment with project goals, timelines and requirements.
  • Guarantee the punctual submission of high-quality deliverables, milestones and project targets.
  • Assist and guide in defining project requirements, confirming technical viability and appropriate resource distribution.
  • Identify risks and discrepancies during project progression, recommending and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
  • Facilitate the commercialization pathways and further utilization of project outcomes by working closely with administrative, technical and management teams.
  • Manage the creation of manuals, instructive materials and other documentation to support successful project execution.
  • Apply document control procedures and standardized templates for consistent project documentation.
  • Monitor financial expenditures, timesheet entries and budget categories to ensure adherence to EU funding regulations.
