FARM360TECH Project
A 360-DEGREE DIGITAL APPROACH TO SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE
FARM360TECH is revolutionizing agriculture by connecting traditional practices with cutting-edge Agriculture 5.0 technologies. In regions like Tenerife, where farmers like Juan face challenges from water scarcity, soil salinity, and invasive pests, FARM360TECH offers transformative solutions. Through IoT sensors, UAVs with multispectral imaging, and AI-driven insights, the project provides farmers with tools to optimize irrigation, fertilization, and pest management. These technologies, combined with Living Labs across Apulia (Italy), Central Macedonia (Greece), Cyprus, and Andalusia (Spain), empower farmers to co-develop region-specific solutions and share best practices.
The project fosters collaboration between less developed regions, transition areas, and innovation leaders from advanced agricultural hubs such as Western Flanders (Belgium) and Attica (Greece). This integration facilitates access to European value chains, advanced farming techniques, and scalable innovations, such as digital twins to predict and mitigate challenges like water shortages and pest outbreaks.
In just two growing seasons, FARM360TECH’s impact will be evident. Farmers like Juan can reduce water use by 40%, enhance yield quality by 30%, and achieve sustainability certifications that unlock premium export markets. FARM360 also equips SMEs in less developed regions with the tools, business models, and investment access needed to thrive in competitive value chains.
FARM360TECH aligns with the I3-2024-INV2a call, advancing the EU Green Deal and Farm to Fork Strategy. By leveraging TRL 6 to TRL 8+ technologies validated through Large-Scale Demonstrators (LSDs) across Europe, the project bridges the innovation gap and reduces environmental footprints. It empowers SMEs, integrates Smart Specialisation Strategies (S3), and builds resilient, sustainable agricultural ecosystems, establishing its pivotal role in modernizing European agriculture.
